President Bola Tinubu has expressed profound sorrow over the death of Chief (Mrs.) Leila Fowler, a distinguished lawyer and pioneering educationist who passed away at the age of 92.
In a statement released by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga on Monday, Tinubu described Fowler’s death as a significant loss to her family, the nation, and especially the education sector.
Fowler was the founder of the Vivian Fowler Memorial College for Girls in Lagos and was also known as the Yeye Mofin of Lagos.
She was the mother of Babatunde Fowler, the former Chairman of the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS).
The President praised Fowler as a visionary and trailblazer, acknowledging her immense contributions to education.

“Through establishing the Vivian Fowler Memorial College for Girls, the late Fowler laid the foundation for academic excellence, nurturing generations of young women and empowering them to reach their fullest potential,” Tinubu stated.
He added that her legacy is evident in the countless lives she positively influenced and that the nation is grateful for her remarkable impact.
The President extended his heartfelt condolences to the Fowler family, friends, associates, and the entire community of the Vivian Fowler Memorial College, as well as the people of Lagos State.
Tinubu prayed for the eternal repose of her soul and for comfort for all those grieving her loss.
