WhatsApp may soon support multiple iOS accounts

Through the newest WhatsApp beta update for iOS WABetaInfo confirms users can create and manage multiple WhatsApp accounts from one single device. The feature first appeared for Android users more than twelve months ago.

With version 25.2.10.70 for iOS, users are given a choice when adding a second account to the app, WABetaInfo reports: Users have two options for new account setup: establishing independent usage through a separate primary account or scanning a QR code to configure their secondary companion account. Users of Apple’s TestFlight beta testing program can install this update.

To operate two accounts at once within WhatsApp on Android users need dual-SIM functionality because every account requires distinct phone numbers. Users can access another WhatsApp option called WhatsApp Business through a different phone number by setting up a second account but this approach forces users to switch back and forth between applications. Following the Android release and iOS testing phase users with dual phone numbers will have all their chats within a single app.
