Nigerian rapper, Ice Prince, has responded to criticisms trailing his performance at the 2026 national convention of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The music star had come under fire after performing at the ruling party’s event at a time many Nigerians continue to express concerns over worsening insecurity and economic challenges across the country.
Some critics accused him of entertaining politicians instead of using his platform to demand accountability from the government.

Speaking during a recent episode of the Black Box podcast, Ice Prince defended his decision, stating that his appearance at the event was influenced by his personal relationship with the APC National Chairman.
“Who booked me for that event? My uncle – Nentawe Yilwatda who is the APC Chairman. He is not just a random person to me. He is my real uncle,” he explained.
