Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike has renamed the newly refurbished International Conference Centre in Abuja after President Bola Tinubu.
The centre will now be known as Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Conference Centre.
The event drew top government officials, including the Senate President, ministers, and other dignitaries.
The conference centre, located in the heart of Abuja, has undergone major renovations aimed at making it meet international standards.
Wike explained that the facility will now operate under a system where all users, regardless of their social or political standing, must pay for services to ensure proper upkeep.
President Tinubu, while speaking at the event, encouraged Wike to remain focused on his duty and not allow distractions from critics.
He said the project fits into his administration’s goal to rebuild national infrastructure and improve the image of the country.
He mentioned that the upgraded facility would serve both local and international interests, helping Nigeria stay active in continental and global discussions.
The President also pointed out that improved infrastructure is key to the country’s growth, especially in areas such as healthcare, education, transportation, and urban development.
He said the renewed facility reflects the kind of progress his government wants to achieve through the Renewed Hope Agenda.
