Nigeria’s Super Eagles have nearly completed their camp in Uyo ahead of decisive 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Rwanda on 6 September and South Africa on 9 September.
As at the time of writing this report, all invited players have already joined the squad at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium. The list included captain William Troost-Ekong, Alex Iwobi, Wilfred Ndidi, and striker Victor Osimhen.
Ademola Lookman and Cyriel Dessers also arrived, boosting attacking options. Players like Stanley Nwabali, Samuel Chukwueze, Moses Simon, Ola Aina, and Calvin Bassey were also in camp training.
Tolu Arokodare, who travelled for a Wolverhampton Wanderers medical, and Chrisantus Uche, who joined Crystal Palace on transfer deadline day, have also arrived camp.

Training sessions began on 2 September, with 15 players participating on the first day. Preparations intensified under head coach Eric Chelle as the team built towards the Rwanda match
The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) General Secretary, Mohammed Sanusi, expressed confidence in the team’s readiness, citing strong preparation and the positive momentum from recent player transfers across Europe.
Nigeria currently sits fourth in Group C with seven points. South Africa leads with 13, while Rwanda and Benin Republic both hold eight. Victories are essential for qualification hopes.
