Vice President Kashim Shettima returned to Borno State to inaugurate a series of multi-billion-naira projects at the Government House Complex in Maiduguri, describing the developments as a strong reflection of purposeful governance.
The projects, delivered under Governor Babagana Zulum’s administration, include a newly built Presidential Lodge, a modern Governor’s Office Complex, a Protocol Office, and a Government House Jumaat Mosque.
After the ceremony, he joined the governor and other faithful for the first Jumaat prayers held at the mosque.
Speaking after a technical briefing by the acting Chief of Staff, Engr. Babagana Mallumbe, Shettima said he felt proud of the progress made under his successor.
He noted that Zulum had remained consistent in delivering tangible benefits to the people through impactful projects across the state.
“Governor Zulum has not disappointed when it comes to good governance,” he said, commending the administration’s focus and commitment.

A key highlight of the visit was the inauguration of the Government House Clinic.
The Chief Medical Director of the Borno State Hospital Management Board, Prof. Abubakar Ali Kullima, explained that the facility would improve access to healthcare for over 2,000 staff and their families.
The clinic is expected to reduce the time previously lost to travelling for medical care, while providing essential services on-site.

It features a fully equipped surgical theatre, antenatal and delivery units, a modern diagnostic laboratory, and emergency care facilities capable of handling short-term patient observation, with referrals arranged for more complex cases.
The event attracted a wide array of senior government officials and dignitaries.
Among those who accompanied Shettima were the Minister of Housing and Urban Development, Ahmed Dangiwa, and the Minister of State for Regional Development, Uba Ahmadu.
Lawmakers, traditional rulers and top government officials were also present, marking what many described as another important step in Borno State’s recovery and development efforts.
