South African artist Tyla has won the Best African Music Performance category at the 2024 Grammys held on Sunday.
Defeating strong competition from Nigerian artistes Davido, Asake, and Burna Boy, Tyla’s song ‘Water’ triumphed over tracks like Davido’s ‘Unavailable,’ Asake’s ‘Amapiano,’ Burna Boy’s ‘City Boys,’ and Ayra Starr’s ‘Rush.’

Notably, ‘Water’ achieved top 10 status in 16 countries, including the UK and the US.
The prestigious award was bestowed upon Tyla during the 66th Grammys Award Premiere Ceremony at the Peacock Theatre in Los Angeles.
