Nigerian rapper Blaqbonez has shared his view on why Afrobeats stars Wizkid and Davido have stayed popular for many years.
He spoke during a chat with YouTuber Korty EO, where he explained that competition among fans plays a strong role in keeping both artists active in the spotlight.
The interview, which surfaced on April 20, 2026, focused on the long-standing presence of Wizkid and Davido in the music industry.
Blaqbonez said that even though artists may have a good relationship with each other, the tension between their supporters helps to keep conversations going around them.

He explained that if the rivalry between their fans disappears, it could reduce the constant attention both singers receive.
According to him, fan competition drives online discussions, debates, and comparisons, which in turn keeps the artists trending and visible.
Blaqbonez also made it clear that while musicians can maintain peace among themselves, he does not support the idea of fans becoming too friendly with rival groups.

In his view, that competitive energy is part of what sustains interest in top artists over time.
“Wizkid and Davido can never fade. That hatred is the reason why they will be relevant forever. When they love each other, it is over. Love is for children. Artist can love each other, but the fans should never love each other,” he expressed.
Speaking about himself, the rapper described his own personality as competitive and said he is open to rivalry, as he believes it pushes artistes to stay active and continue delivering content that keeps them in public conversation.
