Yamal’s hat-trick fires Barcelona clear at La Liga summit

Lamine Yamal delivered a coming-of-age performance as Barcelona dismantled Villarreal CF to stay top of La Liga. The teenager struck his first senior hat-trick in a statement victory.

Ayoze Perez squandered a huge opportunity soon after. Barcelona goalkeeper Joan Garcia hesitated outside his area, but Perez shot wide.

Tempers simmered, and both coaches were cautioned. Then Hansi Flick introduced Pedri to restore order.

Pedri’s incision released Yamal again, who finished from a tight angle for his 13th league goal. He now boasts 101 combined goals and assists for club and country.

Kounde and Pedri later combined for Lewandowski to tap home his 11th league strike as Barcelona march on with belief swelling.
