Manchester United have reached an agreement with Chelsea to sign Brazilian midfielder Andrey Santos for a fee of £50 million.
The 22-year-old will undergo a medical within the next 24 hours and sign a contract until June 2031.
United will pay an initial £48 million, with a further £2 million in easily achievable add-ons. Chelsea have also secured a 10 per cent sell-on clause as part of the transfer.
The Santos deal follows United’s earlier agreement to sign Atalanta midfielder Ederson for €45 million. Manager Michael Carrick is rebuilding his midfield ahead of the new season, with Santos viewed as a key component of his long-term plans.
The transfer progressed rapidly after United formally expressed interest over the weekend. The club has now secured their second major summer signing, with Santos expected to partner Ederson in the centre of midfield.

The Brazilian, currently on vacation, has been granted permission to undergo his medical. He will put pen to paper on a long-term contract at Old Trafford, marking a new chapter in his career after struggling for regular minutes at Chelsea.
