Nigerian music sensation, Sarah Oyinkansola Aderibigbe, known professionally as Ayra Starr, has etched her name in history by becoming the first African artist to receive a Latin Diamond certification from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).
Her chart-topping track “Santa,” a collaborative effort with Rvssian and Rauw Alejandro, reached this landmark after exceeding 10 million units sold in the Latino market of the United States.
The RIAA Latin Diamond award is reserved for songs that cross the 10 million units sold mark in America, particularly those performed in a blend of Spanish and English by artists from outside the Americas.
