Veteran musician Baba Fryo has shared his thoughts on the failed marriage between Afrobeats star 2Face Idibia and his ex-wife, actress Annie Idibia, attributing the breakdown to poor relationship management by both parties.
Speaking during an episode of The Honest Bunch podcast, Fryo stated that the couple’s inability to handle their relationship properly, especially as entertainers, played a major role in their eventual separation.
“2Face and his ex-wife didn’t manage themselves well. They are both entertainers, Annie is an actress and 2Face is a musician,” Fryo said.
He noted that in marriage, a woman plays an important role in helping to stabilize her husband, particularly during vulnerable moments.
“In marriage, when a couple goes out, it’s the woman’s duty to look out for the man. If he’s drinking too much, she should calm him. But if both of them drink, then when they’re both drunk, who will take the other home?” he asked.

Fryo argued that such situations could lead to insecurity for the man, possibly pushing him to seek comfort in someone with a different personality or approach to life.
While offering this critique, the singer also commented on 2Face’s new partner, Natasha Osawuru, a member of the Edo State House of Assembly. Fryo, who said he has known Natasha since she was a child, expressed skepticism about whether she is truly a better fit.
“I’m not saying Natasha’s attitude is any better. I’ve known her since she was three years old, I even carried her on my legs. Her father, Desmond, was my friend,” he remarked.
2Face publicly confirmed his separation from Annie earlier this year and subsequently introduced Natasha as his new partner.
