The Governor of Rivers State, Siminalayi Fubara, has announced the immediate dissolution of the State Executive Council.
The directive, contained in a special announcement signed by the Chief Press Secretary to the governor, Onwuka Nzeshi, was made public on Thursday.
This move effectively relieves all sitting Commissioners and Special Advisers of their duties within the state cabinet.
To ensure that government business continues without interruption, Fubara has instructed all outgoing officials to hand over their responsibilities to the Permanent Secretaries or the most senior career officers in their respective ministries.
