Actor and politician Yul Edochie has criticised the African Democratic Congress over its recent protest against the Independent National Electoral Commission.
He shared his reaction on Wednesday through a post on X, where he dismissed the protest and questioned the credibility of the party’s leaders. According to him, many of the key figures in the party had held top government positions in the past but did not deliver results that improved the lives of Nigerians.
He expressed doubt about their ability to lead any real change in the country.
Yul also made it clear that he supports Bola Tinubu, adding that he does not believe the opposition party has what it takes to fix Nigeria.
He said, “I looked at the ADC led protest & I laughed.
“All the front men in ADC have been in high positions in Government before but they achieved nothing.
Absolutely nothing.
“They made zero impact in the lives of the citizens.
“Na them wan fix Nigeria?
“I stand firmly with President TINUBU.”
The party he criticised includes well-known politicians such as Atiku Abubakar, David Mark, Rauf Aregbesola, Peter Obi, Rabiu Kwankwaso, Rotimi Amaechi and Dino Melaye.

The protest he referred to took place in Abuja on April 8. Leading members of the party, including Atiku, Obi and Kwankwaso, led supporters to the headquarters of INEC to protest what they described as bias by the electoral body.
The protest, known as #OccupyINEC, came after a leadership crisis within the party. INEC had suspended recognition of a faction led by David Mark, following a directive from the Court of Appeal.

During the demonstration, party leaders accused the commission of not acting fairly and demanded changes, including issues related to its leadership. Supporters carried placards as they marched to the INEC office and later submitted a petition to present their complaints.
The internal crisis within the party has also led to different groups holding separate protests, each claiming to be the rightful leadership of the ADC.
INEC has said its decision was based on a court order and explained that it would wait for a final ruling before taking any further action on the leadership dispute within the party.
