Headies Award: Asake, Seyi Vibez nominated in Next Rated category

The nomination list for the 2023 Headies award ceremony has been unveiled.

Since the Headies award ceremony kicked off in 2006, the most controversial and voraciously anticipated category has been the next rated category.

It is the category that more-often-than-not defines the trajectory of an emerging artiste.

Some notable winners of this category includes- Wizkid and Davido. Two of the biggest names in the Nigerian entertainment industry and the Afrobeat movement across the globe.

In 2023, Nigerian recording artiste, Asake who performed at the 2022 edition which took place in United States of America will be looking to win his first major award in the Nigerian entertainment industry.

The singer-songwriter who is signed to Olamide’s Yahoo Boy No Laptop (YBNL) will be competing against Seyi Vibez, producer-cum-musician, Young John, Spyro and Victony.

It would be recalled that in 2022, Asake put the music industry on chokehold with the release of his debut studio album, Mr Money With The Vibes.

Spyro makes the list following the release of his hit single ‘Who Is Your Guy’.

Following the release of his ‘Outlaw’ EP and the success of his hit single ‘Soweto’, Victony makes the nomination list.

Seyi Vibez concludes the list after enjoying a wonderful run with the release of his debut album ‘Billion Dollar Baby’ which rocketed him to the mainstream.
