Influencer apologizes to Tiwa Savage over post about her son

An X (formerly Twitter) user known as Dami Foreign has tendered a public apology to Afrobeats star Tiwa Savage after coming under fire for posts that mentioned her son, Jamil Balogun.

The apology was issued after Tiwa Savage warned the influencer to stop involving her child in online conversations.

The singer made it clear that while she is used to public comments about herself, dragging her son into such talk was not acceptable.

Following the warning, the influencer posted a message addressed to the singer, stating that he was sorry for the earlier remarks and insisting that he did not wish harm on her or her child.

He also claimed that he had made other positive posts about her in the past that may not have been noticed.

He wrote: “Dear @TiwaSavage, I’m sorry if you got offended by some of the tweets I made about you. You must be very angry and hurt for you to have called me out. I want you to know that I don’t mean bad or de@th for you or your son.

“There are lots of positive tweets I’ve made about you that you’ve probably never seen I promise. It’s all love from this side. I sincerely apologize.”

The clash began after the influencer made a fresh post about the child on Tuesday, which sparked outrage from many social media users.

Tiwa Savage responded by cautioning him publicly, saying she would not tolerate any further mention of her son.

Further checks showed that the influencer had a history of making repeated remarks about the singer over time.

Past posts from 2025 and early 2026 included negative comments about her career and age.

Tiwa Savage reacted strongly, accusing him of long-term online attacks and recalling earlier posts that she believed were harmful or malicious toward her.

She also suggested that the influencer was deliberately targeting her.
