Nollywood star Jim Iyke has shared a shocking experience from his career, revealing how he reacted when a movie producer asked him to take on a gay role.
In an interview, the actor explained that he strongly rejects any script that conflicts with his personal values.
He recalled that when he received a script requiring him to play a gay character, he tracked down the producer and confronted him.
“The last producer that sent me his script along that line… the last… I located that guy with a machete. Immediately he saw me, he took off. I said, keep running, keep running, keep running,” he said.

Jim Iyke added that while he acknowledges that there is an audience and community for such roles, he prefers to stay away from them.
“I can’t roll with the gay guys, I’m sorry. I can’t wear skirt for nobody, I’m sorry. I know there’s a whole community, you know. I salute you guys, to each his own. We’re too much mill to get it twisted, yeah,” he added.
The actor further noted that some filmmakers use sensitive topics to attract a wider audience, but insisted that he would not compromise his principles for a role.
