New Zealand PM invites Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce to celebrate wedding or honeymoon in Aotearoa

New Zealand’s Prime Minister Christopher Luxon

New Zealand’s Prime Minister, Christopher Luxon, has extended an invitation to music superstar Taylor Swift and NFL player Travis Kelce, encouraging them to consider his country as the venue for their wedding or honeymoon.

In a video posted on his official Facebook page following news of the couple’s engagement, Luxon congratulated them and described New Zealand as an ideal romantic destination.

“Well, Taylor and Travis, a big congratulations on this fantastic news. Getting engaged is such an exciting time,” Luxon said. “Now I know you might not be thinking this far ahead, but there would be no better place in the world to have the wedding than here in New Zealand, or even your honeymoon.”

Luxon went on to highlight some of the country’s most scenic attractions, including the snow-capped Aoraki Mount Cook, the glowworm caves of Waitomo, and adventure-packed Queenstown, where he jokingly suggested cliff diving.

Kelce’s father later revealed that the proposal took place quietly in a Missouri garden about two weeks earlier, describing the pair as “so good together” and saying he had never seen his son happier.

Swift and Kelce began dating in 2023, with Swift frequently attending Kansas City Chiefs games and recently appearing on Kelce’s podcast, New Heights, to promote her upcoming album, The Life of a Showgirl.
