Nigerian entrepreneur and social media influencer, May Edochie, has dismissed claims that she apologized to her estranged husband, Nollywood actor Yul Edochie.
The denial comes in response to a letter making the rounds online, which suggested that May had offered an apology to Yul amid their ongoing divorce case.
May, who filed for divorce in 2023 following Yul’s public announcement of actress Judy Austin as his second wife in April 2022, had cited adultery in her court filing and demanded ₦100 million in damages.
In a Facebook post shared by her legal counsel, Emeka Ugwuonye, May described the circulated apology letter as false and misleading. She referred to it as “a desperate attempt to create a narrative when other efforts have failed.”

Clarifying her stance, May said, “May did NOT issue any apology. It was Yul who chose polygamy and previously apologized. However, such an apology does not change the legal course currently being pursued.”
She urged the public to disregard the viral claims, emphasizing that she remains firmly committed to the divorce and the legal actions surrounding the alleged infidelity.
Meanwhile, Yul Edochie recently addressed the Igbo community on the selection process of traditional rulers, calling for a return to cultural norms. He stressed the importance of selecting leaders through traditional means rather than modern political processes.
According to Yul, “a true traditional ruler must be a core traditionalist, chosen by the deity of the land, and sworn to uphold truth, unity, peace, and shun evil.”
He expressed concern that the neglect of cultural traditions and the embrace of foreign practices are contributing to rising societal issues, including crime.
