The Nigeria Police Force has named CSP Anietie Okokon Edem Iniedu as its new spokesperson, following approval by Inspector‑General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, NPM.
According to a statement shared on NPF official account, Iniedu is a seasoned officer with extensive experience in public communication, operational policing, intelligence management, accountability, and administration.

A native of Etinan Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State, he holds a B.Sc. in Pure Chemistry from the University of Uyo and has completed professional training in areas ranging from crime scene management and investigative interviewing to human rights‑based policing and strategic communication.

Before his appointment, Iniedu headed the Complaint Response Unit (CRU) at Force Headquarters, Abuja, where he coordinated public complaint management and introduced measures to improve transparency and accountability. He has also served as spokesperson for the Police College of Information Technology in Ogun State, alongside other operational and administrative roles across the country.
His career record includes stints as Operations Officer at Maisandari Division in Yobe State, Area Crime Officer in Umuahia, Staff Officer at the IGP Secretariat, Second‑in‑Command of the 50 Police Mobile Force Squadron in Kubwa, and Officer‑in‑Charge of the Situation Room at Force Headquarters, where he coordinated nationwide crime and security information.
IGP Disu expressed confidence that Iniedu’s background will strengthen the Force’s public relations department, improve strategic communication, and deepen engagement with citizens in line with ongoing policing reforms.
