NITDA has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Kaspersky Global to boost Nigeria’s cybersecurity ecosystem and protect critical digital infrastructure.
The agreement was formalised during GITEX Nigeria 2025 in Lagos, with Kashifu Inuwa Abdullahi and Chris Norton representing both organisations.
Under the MoU, Kaspersky will support training to build local cyber talent, run awareness campaigns, and collaborate on research for improved cyber defence.
The deal also enables intelligence sharing on threats targeting citizens, government, and digital assets across the country.
Kaspersky will provide advisory input to NITDA on developing strong frameworks and standards for safeguarding critical information infrastructure.

Abdullahi described the MoU as a milestone in Nigeria’s digital resilience strategy, combining global expertise with national commitment.
Norton added that the partnership reflects Kaspersky’s dedication to supporting Africa’s digital security landscape through capacity building and intelligence sharing.
The initiative is expected to enhance cyber defence literacy nationwide, equipping Nigerians with the skills to counter evolving threats.
NITDA said the partnership reinforces its drive to position Nigeria as a secure digital hub within Africa’s fast-growing tech ecosystem.
