Lagos State Police authorities have arrested a man involved in distributing pirated Nollywood films, including Owambe Thieves, ThinLine, and Alakada Bad and Bourjee.
The arrest was carried out by the Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID) Annex in Alagbon following a complaint by FilmOne Entertainment Limited.
The complaint revealed that parts of Owambe Thieves were unlawfully uploaded on TikTok in August, and the suspect demanded N1,000 from anyone seeking the full pirated copy.
Evidence submitted included screenshots, transaction records, and copyright documents.

The suspect, Roqeeb Musibau, operated under the TikTok handle “Naijaprey TV.”
He admitted to obtaining films from illegal websites, sharing clips on TikTok, and selling full movies via WhatsApp.
He confessed to selling pirated copies to over 50 people and distributing other Nollywood titles such as Farmers Bride, ThinLine, and Alakada Bad and Bourjee.
Police seized two devices, an iPhone 15 Pro and an iPhone SE, which contained detailed records of pirated films and customer information.
Bank records showed transactions totaling more than N7.6 million between August 20 and October 29, linked to the illegal sales.
FCID’s spokesperson, ASP Mayegun Aminat, said the department will continue to pursue piracy and other cybercrimes.
She warned that anyone involved in distributing illegal films or other contraband would face prosecution.
