Paternity dispute: Ayo Labinjoh replies Adedeji Adeleke over viral video

Ayo Labinjoh has accused the Adeleke family of intimidation and abuse of influence following renewed public comments on ongoing paternity dispute involving Nigerian singer David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido.

Labinjoh, who claims that her daughter, Anu, is Davido’s child, reacted to a viral video in which Davido’s father, Adedeji Adeleke, stated that the child was not a member of the Adeleke family, adding that several DNA tests had been conducted to support the family’s position.

NRTC had earlier reported Dr. Adeleke’s response to the paternity dispute.

In a statement issued in response, Labinhoh rejected Dr. Adeleke’s claims and challenged his involvement in the matter, insisting that Davido should personally address the issue.

“As the patriarch of the family, you should not be speaking on Davido’s behalf. Let Davido address me directly,” she said.

Ayo Labinjoh alleged that members of the Adeleke family had used their influence and financial power to intimidate her and her relatives. She further claimed that a member of her family, identified as her sister, Titi Labinjoh, had engaged with the media without the family’s consent and had been in contact with journalists since 2020.

According to Labinjoh, her sister had earlier expressed concern over the media attention surrounding the case and the pressure it had caused at her workplace, but was advised by their mother to ignore the situation. She alleged that the family later discovered that her sister had been collecting money from the press in relation to the matter.

Addressing social media activity linked to her daughter, Binjo said she is not an active social media user and did not make online posts for several years. She stated that she resumed posting in 2023 during her daughter’s 10th birthday celebration and clarified that she no longer resides in Ibadan, while Anu lives with her grandmother.

She denied having any direct contact with Dr. Kemi Olunloyo, whom she accused of opening a social media page in 2019 and posting photographs of Anu without authorisation. Labinjoh claimed that Dr. Kemi also held a press conference and engaged in public relations activities during an appeal in 2018.

Labinjoh further stated that neither she nor her daughter has undergone any additional DNA testing since 2024, adding that her daughter has never met the individual at the centre of the paternity claim.

Raising security concerns, Ayo Labinjoh said that if any harm comes to her, her daughter, or her mother, law enforcement authorities should hold Dr. Adeleke responsible.

As of the time of filing this report, neither Davido nor the Adeleke family has issued an official response to Binjo’s latest allegations.

The paternity dispute continues to generate public attention, with the parties maintaining opposing positions.
