Plateau PDP schedules state elective congress for Saturday

The Plateau State Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has finalised preparations to hold its State Elective Congress this Saturday, October 25, 2025.

The crucial internal party election is scheduled to take place at the WAYE Foundation in Doi-Du, Jos South Local Government Area, commencing at 10:00 a.m. prompt.

According to a press release issued on Friday and signed by Rt. Hon. Joyce Lohya Ramnap, mni, Chairperson of the Media and Publicity Sub-Committee, the Congress is expected to be attended by delegates from all 17 Local Government Areas of the state, along with key party stakeholders and members.

The purpose of the exercise is to elect new officials and, in doing so, to further strengthen the party’s structures while consolidating its unity and internal democracy on the Plateau.

The State Working Committee of the PDP used the announcement to thank party members across the state for their “continued loyalty, commitment, and peaceful conduct.”

The leadership expressed optimism that Congress will reaffirm the collective commitment to building a more vibrant, people-focused PDP dedicated to advancing development and good governance for all citizens.

All delegates and observers have been urged to arrive early, maintain peace, and strictly follow the party’s guidelines throughout the electoral process.

The PDP restated its overarching vision to restore hope, deepen democracy, and deliver the promised dividends of governance to the populace.
