Operatives of the Adamawa State Police Command, attached to the State Intelligence Department (SID), have arrested Habubakar Umar for the alleged sodomization of four young boys aged 8 and 9.
Umar, 22, a commercial tricyclist residing in Rumde Baru, Yola North Local Government Area, was arrested following a complaint from the victims’ parents.
In a statement, police spokesperson Suleiman Nguroje said the victims’ parents reported that the suspect was hired to convey their children to school.

Nguroje added that the suspect took advantage of this and, on several occasions, lured them into committing indecent acts.Nguroje said the suspect confessed to committing the crime and blamed the devil.
“The Commissioner of Police, CP Dankombo Morris, Psc (+), has condemned the disturbing incident and directed that the case be diligently investigated and charged to court without delay.
“The Command remains committed to protecting the rights of children and urges parents and guardians to be vigilant and report people of suspicious character to the nearest police stations”, said Nguroje.
