Kaduna State Governor, Uba Sani on Friday performed the groundbreaking ceremony for the reconstruction of Rigasa Township Roads in Igabi Local Government and Zango Road in Kaduna South Local Government.

These projects are part of his administration’s commitment to bridging infrastructure gaps and promoting inclusive development in areas often neglected.

Speaking at the event, Sani highlighted the significance of the two areas.

Rigasa, he noted, is one of Nigeria’s most populous wards, while Zango is home to critical establishments such as the Zango Cattle Market, Sheikh Abubakar Gumi College, and the School of Health Technology.

The governor stated that the new roads will not only improve connectivity but also create economic opportunities and jobs for the hardworking residents who have long endured infrastructural challenges.

The projects are a continuation of the state’s broader infrastructure renewal program.

Sani revealed that the first phase of the program saw the flagging off of 85 roads, totalling 785 kilometres, with 44 already completed.

The second phase, which includes these new projects, adds another 50 roads and bridges covering 550 kilometres.

The contract for the roads has been awarded to the China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation (CCECC). Sani expressed confidence in the contractor, stating he had received firm assurances that the projects would be completed within eight months.

He urged all stakeholders, including community leaders and residents, to take ownership of the projects to ensure their longevity.
