Sanwo-Olu unveils renovated Alhaji G.K. Oseni Central Mosque at LSPC

It was a dual celebration of spirituality and history, as the Lagos State Printing Corporation (LSPC) commissioned its newly renovated Central Mosque.

The facility was named in honour of Alhaji Ganiyu Kola Oseni, the pioneer Chairman of the Corporation, marking both his transformative leadership and his 80th birthday.

Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, represented by the Special Adviser on Political, Legislative, and Civic Engagement, Afolabi Abiodun Muhammed Tajudeen, performed the commissioning during a special Jumat service held within the Corporation’s premises.

The decision to immortalise Oseni was described as a deliberate move to preserve institutional memory.

During the ceremony, Tajudeen delivered the governor’s message, emphasising that the mosque serves as a powerful symbol of faith, unity, and institutional heritage.

“Institutions grow stronger when they honour their pioneers,” the governor’s representative noted, praising the LSPC management for preserving the values of discipline and excellence laid down by Oseni over five decades ago.

The General Manager of LSPC, Kolawole Peregrino, welcomed guests by highlighting the mosque’s role as a sanctuary for moral reflection and spiritual growth.

He stated that the renovation reflects the Corporation’s commitment to nurturing spiritual values, which in turn strengthens workplace ethics and productivity.

The event was attended by a high-profile delegation, including Alhaja Sikirat Abimbola Jakande, wife of the first civilian Governor of Lagos State, Olanrewaju Adetokunbo Bajulaye, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Information and Strategy, Alhaji Akeem Apatira, the major donor for the mosque’s reconstruction and religious leaders, LSPC staff, and members of the Oseni family.

The commissioning was particularly poignant as it coincided with Alhaji Oseni’s 80th birthday, turning the religious gathering into a celebration of a lifetime of service.

The mosque now stands as a “living monument,” intended to inspire future generations of public servants to uphold integrity and dedication.

By honouring its past, the state Printing Corporation has reinforced the idea that institutional progress is most meaningful when anchored in gratitude and a sense of purpose.
