Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim has offered key updates on his squad ahead of Monday’s clash with Everton at Old Trafford.
The team returned from the international break, but several players were absent during Friday’s open training session.
Observers quickly noted the missing faces as preparations continued at Carrington.
Benjamin Sesko will miss a few weeks after sustaining an injury during the 2-2 draw against Tottenham earlier this month. The Slovenian forward withdrew from international duty to focus on recovery, but Amorim has reassured fans that Sesko’s injury is not severe.
“He is going to stay out for a few weeks, I don’t know how long, but it is not that serious,” said Amorim.
“We have to be careful with him; he is recovering and feeling better. So in a few weeks I expect to have Ben [Sesko].”
Maguire out, Martinez and Mainoo close to return
Harry Maguire will miss the Everton fixture after picking up an injury during United’s north London trip. The centre-back had only recently returned following setbacks against Brighton and Nottingham Forest.

Meanwhile, Kobbie Mainoo, who missed the Tottenham match, could be available after training over the weekend.

“Maguire is not ready,” Amorim confirmed. “Kobbie didn’t train today, but we could see him tomorrow. We will see how he progresses.”
Lisandro Martinez is edging closer to full fitness after joining Argentina for international duty. However, Amorim cautioned that Martinez may struggle for minutes initially.
“He is becoming close to being ready to play,” Amorim said. “Of course, we need to be careful as he is going to struggle in the first minutes. He is in a better position compared to two weeks ago.”
Everton injury update ahead of Manchester United clash
Everton head coach David Moyes shared updates on his squad ahead of the Manchester United game. The Toffees ended the international break positively with a 2-0 win over Fulham.
However, long-term absentees remain, including Jarrad Branthwaite (hamstring) and Nathan Patterson (foot), while Merlin Rohl recovers from a minor hernia operation.
Both sides will monitor the fitness of key players as Monday’s Premier League clash approaches.
