Xavi Simons has been ruled out for the rest of the season after suffering a serious knee injury. The setback also ends his hopes of playing in the upcoming World Cup.
The midfielder was stretchered off during Tottenham’s narrow 1-0 win at Wolves. Early reports suggest a possible ligament injury following a collision.
Simons later shared his emotions, writing: “They say life can be cruel and today it feels that way.”
He added: “My season has come to an abrupt end… Honestly, I’m heartbroken.”
Tottenham blow deepens relegation fight
Tottenham are battling to avoid relegation, making his absence even more damaging. The team currently sits in the bottom three with limited matches remaining.
Simons also expressed pain over missing the World Cup. He said: “All I’ve wanted to do is fight for my team.”

Despite the setback, he remains hopeful about recovery and future opportunities. He concluded: “Be patient with me.”
