Threads users now have access to an interactive markup tool that helps them personalize their public posts. According to Adam Mosseri, recent changes to the Threads app add a markup tool through which users can draw content on their selected posts before sharing them.
Users can find markup options within the quotation and reposting menu. Users can now turn post screenshots into editable formats through the new tool which supports visual elements such as highlights and drawing tools. According to Mosseri, the tool enables users to add their personal touch to shared content even though it fundamentally limits their editing capacity. Users can currently apply yellow highlights with red arrows and doodles yet Mosseri indicated additional capabilities are forthcoming from Meta.

According to a Threads representative, the annotation tool functions similarly to quotation posts because users receive notifications when others choose to modify their original content. Users can manage markups by enabling settings allowing them to determine who receives the ability to reply and quote their content.
The app is also making two other features itās already previewed officially: post-scheduling and analytics. The upcoming features aim to benefit professional profile managers since Threads lacks advanced business-focused tools currently available across Meta’s platforms. Although Meta is expected to launch advertising on threads during the first quarter of 2025 these two tools would provide beneficial functionality even then.
