Khaby Lame, the Italian-Senegalese TikTok icon recognized as the platform’s most followed creator, has departed the United States after overstaying his visa, according to U.S. immigration officials.
The incident occurred during an intensified immigration enforcement effort under President Donald Trump’s administration.
U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) confirmed in a statement on Monday that the 25-year-old was detained last Friday at Harry Reid International Airport in Las Vegas due to immigration violations. He was later granted voluntary departure and exited the country on June 6.
“U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement detained Seringe Khabane Lame, 25, a citizen of Italy, June 6, at the Harry Reid International Airport, Las Vegas, Nevada, for immigration violations,” ICE stated.
It continued, “Lame was granted voluntary departure June 6 and has since departed the U.S.”

Lame, known for his signature silent, humorous responses to overly complex “life hack” videos, boasts more than 162 million followers on TikTok. His fame has led to collaborations with top fashion labels, a part in a Hollywood movie, and a Tubi reality show titled Khaby Is Coming To America.
Although he has not released an official comment since the deportation, Lame shared an Instagram story on Monday from São Paulo, Brazil—his first confirmed location after leaving the U.S.
Riccardo Lanzo, Lame’s former attorney, noted that the influencer had spent considerable time in the United States but admitted there was ambiguity surrounding his visa situation.
The development is part of a larger wave of immigration enforcement measures introduced under Trump’s renewed administration.
