‘Weed not hard drug’- Nigerian recording artiste, Davido

Weed is not a hard drug“, according to Nigerian recording artiste, David Adeleke who is better known as Davido.

Weed is an herb otherwise known as marijuana, it is often used as a relaxative by predominantly young people and adults. Nigerian singer-songwriter, Davido has spoken about the use of cannabis.

The singer stated this while discussing his foundationā€™s planned donation to orphanages and fight against drug abuse on the latest episode of The Morning Hustle podcast.

Davido said some people are accusing him of being a hypocrite for donating to fight against drug abuse while still smoking weed but he doesnā€™t regard weed as a hard drug.

He said: ā€œThis year, Iā€™m donating to the fight against drug abuse among youths. I donā€™t count weed as a hard drug. Some people are saying I smoke weed but I donā€™t count weed as a drug.

ā€œA lot of people have been going through a lot recently. Drug addiction is becoming rampant. So I want to donate to that cause to help them quit.ā€
