Sharon Adeleke, sister to Afrobeats star Davido, has stated that the singer played a major role in introducing a more luxurious and flamboyant lifestyle into Nigeria’s music scene.
She made the remark during Davido’s Apple Radio live takeover, which featured family and close associates celebrating his 15-year journey in the music industry.
“I think that David is one of the people that started all this being flashy and showing off and making it cool, in Nigeria,” she said.
Davido also reflected on the evolution of the music culture, drawing comparisons with the American entertainment scene.

“When we came to Nigeria, Mo’Hits did it with like having a crew but you see how in America, every successful musician has a crew, his guys and all that.”
Sharon insisted: “You brought that. Nobody used to do that.”
The singer has, however, consistently acknowledged the influence of the defunct Mo’ Hits Records, which was spearheaded by Don Jazzy and D’banj.
