2027: Shettima submits Tinubu’s nomination forms

Vice President Kashim Shettima on Thursday submitted the nomination and expression of interest forms for President Bola Tinubu ahead of the 2027 presidential election.

The event, held at the Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Conference Centre, attracted key figures within the party.

They includes governors, lawmakers and members of the APC National Working Committee.

Speaking after presenting the forms, Shettima described Tinubu as a leader who had remained steady despite the country’s economic and social challenges.

According to him, the tough decisions taken by the administration were necessary to stabilise the economy and reposition the country for long-term growth.

“The storms of the past years have not diminished him; they have made a fine sailor out of him,” he said, while addressing party supporters and stakeholders at the venue.

Shettima insisted that recent economic improvements reflected the impact of ongoing reforms.

Shettima urged party members and supporters to remain united behind the President and safeguard what he described as the progress already achieved.

The event also became a platform for senior party leaders to publicly reaffirm their backing for Tinubu’s second-term ambition.

Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas, praised the President’s reform policies.

He described them as critical steps towards economic recovery and national stability.

APC National Chairman, Nentawe Yilwatda, said the party’s endorsement of Tinubu was influenced by what he called improving economic indicators and growing confidence in the administration’s policies.

Chairman of the Progressive Governors Forum and Governor of Imo State, Hope Uzodinma, also pledged the support of APC governors.

He said they would work tirelessly to ensure the President completes his ongoing projects and reforms.

Several APC governors and party leaders attended the ceremony, including representatives from Borno, Kaduna, Katsina, Niger, Ogun, Ondo, Nasarawa, Cross River, Plateau, Taraba and Yobe states, while Bayelsa State was represented.
