Renowned music artiste Shakira is back on football’s grandest stage – the World Cup – with an exciting fresh anthem set to entertain the global audience.
The Colombian pop star has unveiled her official song for the 2026 World Cup. The 49-year-old, behind mega hits such as ‘Whenever, Wherever’ and ‘Hips Don’t Lie’, teased ‘Dai Dai’.
She shared a one-minute teaser from Brazil’s legendary Maracana stadium. The track is set to drop on 14 May and features Nigeria’s Afrobeats star Damini Ebunoluwa Ogulu, popularly known as Burna Boy.
Global sound meets football fever as Shakira reclaims World Cup spotlight
It marks Shakira’s second official World Cup anthem after ‘Waka Waka (This Time for Africa)’. That 2010 hit became one of football’s most enduring songs.

She also delivered ‘La La La (Brazil 2014)’ for the next tournament cycle. Her performances have consistently defined World Cup celebrations.

Shakira, who shares two sons with Gerard Piqué, remains deeply tied to football culture. She previously performed ‘Hips Don’t Lie’ at the 2006 closing ceremony.
This year’s tournament will be held in the United States of America, Mexico, and Canada. Meanwhile, Colombia will also compete in the expanded 48-team spectacle.
