Super Eagles striker Paul Onuachu has inspired Trabzonspor to Turkish Cup success with a decisive brace. His performance also ended a frustrating goal drought in style.
It was Trabzonspor’s first Turkish Cup title since 2020. The win also marked their 10th triumph in the competition.
Onuachu opened scoring in the 18th minute with a powerful volley. However, Konyaspor equalised early in the second half through Jackson Muleka.
Momentum briefly shifted, but Konyaspor missed a crucial penalty opportunity. That miss proved decisive in the context of the final.

Trabzonspor were later awarded a penalty of their own, with Onuachu calmly converting to restore the lead.
His brace secured the victory and reaffirmed his importance to the team. It also showed his ability to deliver in crucial moments.

Onuachu has now won cup titles in Denmark, Belgium, and Turkey, with his consistency across Europe continuing to stand out.

He finished as joint top scorer in the Turkish Super Lig with 22 goals. Additionally, he contributed two assists in 30 matches. He has also been named in Nigeria’s squad for upcoming friendlies.
