My baby daddy is not a Muslim – Toke Makinwa clears air

Nigerian media personality Toke Makinwa has addressed speculation about the religion of her daughter’s father.

The talk arose after Toke welcomed her first child, a baby girl named Yakira Eliana, in August 2025, but kept the father’s identity private.

The discussion started when a social media user suggested that the baby’s father might be a Muslim, linking the claim to her daughter’s name.

Toke responded, clarifying that her child’s father is not Muslim and explaining the origin of her daughter’s name.

She said Yakira is a Hebrew name that means beloved, precious, and someone of great worth.

The fan wrote, “I think Yakira’s dad is a Muslim.”

She replied, “He is not. Yakira is a Hebrew name. Beloved, precious and someone of great worth”.
