Ice Prince clarifies weight loss, says it’s a result of lifestyle change, not illness

Nigerian rapper and singer, Ice Prince, has opened up about his recent weight loss, assuring fans that it has nothing to do with any illness.

The ‘Oleku’ hitmaker explained that his previous weight gain was caused by poor lifestyle choices, but he recently made a conscious effort to lose weight after family and friends expressed concern about his health.

Taking to his X handle on Monday, Ice Prince revealed that music producer Chopstix played a key role in motivating him to begin his fitness journey.

“[I] was literally about to explode.. no sickness ( Bless God ) just bad habits and choices, but then Chopstix and Dami said ‘let’s loose the belly Ice’ and that really sparked something in my brain that got me activated.. from that meeting, my brother chopstix started coming to my house everyday after dinner and we both walked my estate for an hour and unoo chopper gist na normally for Phd students lol but our talks during those walks are priceless to me, as every other thing we’ve both talked about since we were kids !!! buss a shot fa ma true fren.”

Ice Prince’s revelation comes amid growing attention on body transformations among Nigerian celebrities.

In 2022, actress Eniola Badmus stunned fans after shedding about 80 kilograms, reducing her weight from 170kg to 90kg. Earlier this year, Mercy Johnson-Okojie also faced public scrutiny over her noticeable weight loss. She later explained that it was medically related, disclosing that she had undergone thyroid surgery which initially raised cancer concerns.
