The Nigerian Education Loan Fund has issued a warning to the public about a fake message circulating online, falsely claiming that the NELFUND Student Loan Registration Portal is currently open.
The misleading message urges prospective applicants to use a third-party link — http://gvly.xyz/Nelfund-Student-Loan — which the Fund has confirmed is not authorised and is entirely fraudulent.
In a notice shared on its X handle on Tuesday, NELFUND cautioned students and members of the public against clicking the link or submitting any personal information. The agency stressed that the genuine loan registration portal can only be accessed through its verified platforms.

It further advised applicants to remain vigilant online and to report any suspicious messages or links that appear to come from NELFUND.
“Applicants are encouraged to always verify official announcements via NELFUND’s official website and social media channels,” NELFUND said.
The warning forms part of the Fund’s broader efforts to protect students and maintain the credibility of the student loan application process.
