Veteran Nollywood star Joke Silva has shared what she considers one of the benefits of marrying an older partner.
The 64-year-old actress spoke during a recent appearance on TVC’s talk show, Your View, where she reflected on her relationship with her husband, Olu Jacobs.
The couple tied the knot in 1985. Jacobs, a respected figure in Nollywood, is 20 years older than Silva. At the time of their wedding, he was 44, while she was 24. Their marriage has produced two children.
Speaking about how their relationship began, Silva revealed that it was not love at first sight for her, even though it was for her husband.

She recalled meeting him during a stage production before they later encountered each other again on a movie set.
“Yes we met on stage, and when we met on a movie set, everybody knew it was the great Olu Jacob who was coming, except me. When he came, we got on very well and it was after we started dating that I discovered his age because he looked so good.
“For him, it was love at first sight but for me, it wasn’t. This older men allows you to get away with a lot of things.”
Silva’s remarks have since sparked conversations about age differences in relationships and the dynamics that often come with them.
