Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, has commissioned the newly renovated Olumo Rock Tourism Complex in Abeokuta, unveiling a revitalised cultural hub aimed at boosting tourism and economic activity in the state.
To encourage public participation and promote cultural heritage, Abiodun announced that access to the complex would be free of charge until the end of September 2025.
The refurbished site now boasts a range of new features, including an arts galleria, adire fabric stores, restaurants serving both local and continental cuisine, gazebos, elevators, and a standby power system, all designed to enhance visitors’ experience.

Speaking during the commissioning ceremony, the governor described Olumo Rock as a “timeless emblem of refuge, identity, and resilience” for the Egba people.
He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to tourism development under the ISEYA agenda, noting its potential to drive employment, attract investment, and celebrate Ogun’s cultural legacy.
He further revealed that entrepreneurial zones had been integrated into the complex to empower local artisans and encourage commercial activity.
Abiodun also disclosed plans to concession the facility to ensure sustainable management and long-term viability.
The governor pledged continued efforts to revitalise heritage sites across the state, positioning Ogun as a leading destination for cultural tourism in Nigeria.
