Nigerian singer Chike has stirred reactions online after sharing a short message on social media amid the controversy surrounding his alleged relationship with Sandra Edoho, the former wife of media personality Frank Edoho.
The controversy started after Frank Edoho revealed during an interview that his marriage ended after he discovered that his then-wife was involved with a musician.
Although he did not mention any name, many social media users began linking the story to Chike.
The matter gained more attention after social media critic VeryDarkMan released a video discussing the issue.
In the video, he warned that the rumours could affect Chike’s music career, especially because a large part of the singer’s bookings come from wedding performances.

According to him, some married men may no longer feel comfortable inviting the singer to perform at their events because of the allegations making rounds online.
As discussions continued on social media, Chike shared a brief post on Sunday night, writing about people having pity on his soul.
“Pity my soul”, he wrote.
The post quickly attracted attention, with many fans believing it was connected to the ongoing rumours surrounding him and Sandra Edoho.

Some supporters defended the singer, saying there is no proof linking him to the allegations. Others also argued that social media users were attacking him over claims that have not been confirmed.
Despite the controversy, the singer recently appeared in public at a cinema in Lagos, where he interacted freely with fans.
Videos from the outing showed female fans taking photos with him, requesting autographs and singing along to his song, ‘Running To You.’
