Governor Biodun Oyebanji of Ekiti State has assured children across the state of a brighter and more rewarding future, as Nigeria marks the 2025 edition of Children’s Day.
In a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Media, Yinka Oyebode, Oyebanji congratulated children in the state and reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to investing in their human capital development, to prepare them for leadership and success in various spheres of life.
Describing children as “special gifts from God”, the governor emphasised the importance of nurturing them properly to maximise their God-given potential and ensure a prosperous future for society.
He called for a collaborative effort among government, the private sector, families, corporate bodies, and religious organisations to invest meaningfully in children’s futures, stressing that the overall development of society hinges on the opportunities given to its younger generation.

Governor Oyebanji highlighted ongoing efforts by his administration in the areas of education, healthcare, safe learning environments, and rights protection.
He noted that substantial resources have been dedicated to child development, to improve their quality of life and access to essential services.
He cited the state’s free education policy, provision of instructional materials, and top-tier infrastructure in public schools as critical components of his government’s strategy to ensure access to quality education for all children.
The governor also underscored his administration’s commitment to upholding constitutional and legal provisions that protect children’s rights, adding that these efforts have made Ekiti a model in safeguarding child dignity.
He urged parents, guardians, and educators to support the government’s vision by creating platforms for children to achieve their dreams and grow into impactful members of society.
Oyebanji congratulated Ekiti children on the celebration of their day, which he said serves as a reminder of the collective responsibility to create an enabling environment for children to thrive and contribute meaningfully to the development of the state and the nation.
