Historic wins for Nigeria! U19 Yellow Greens shine at ICC Women’s World Cup, junior Tennis team conquers Africa

Nigeria’s U19 women’s cricket team secured a groundbreaking win, defeating New Zealand by 2 runs at the ICC U19 Women’s World Cup in Malaysia.

The rain-shortened match, reduced to 13 overs per side, saw the Yellow Greens shine in a historic first-ever World Cup victory.

Captain of the Nigeria side Lucky Piety was the star of the day, contributing 18 runs off 22 balls. She also took one wicket for just eight runs in three overs. Her efforts earned her the Player of the Match award and ensured Nigeria’s spot in the Super Six stage.
