If your WhatsApp account has been hacked, worry not! You can recover it within just 10 minutes with a stable internet connection. Here’s what you need to do:
- Uninstall WhatsApp: Remove the WhatsApp application from your phone.
- Download afresh: Visit the app store (Play Store for Android or App Store for iPhone) and download WhatsApp again.
- Open with your number: Open the newly installed app and register with the same phone number that was hacked. Make sure you have the SIM card associated with that number.
- Verification Code: WhatsApp will send a six-digit verification code to your phone via SMS. Enter this code in the app. Doing so will log you into your account instantly and automatically log out the hacker.

However, if you were asked for a two-step verification code that you didn’t set up, it means the hacker activated this feature. Since you don’t have the code, you’ll need to wait for 7 days before signing in without it.
It’s important to note that once you log in with the six-digit SMS code, the hacker is immediately logged out. This means they cannot continue conversations with your contacts or access your WhatsApp account during this period.
