The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced that more than 6.2 million Nigerians have completed their online pre-registration for the Continuous Voter Registration exercise.
In an update shared on Monday through its official X handle and website, INEC revealed that a total of 6,232,673 pre-registrants were recorded between September 22 and 28, 2025.
According to the figures, 3,250,338 of the registrants were female, representing 52.15 percent, while 2,982,335 were male, accounting for 47.85 percent.
Young people between the ages of 18 and 34 dominated the process, making up 4,230,715 of the registrants. Students contributed significantly, with 1,565,824 registrations, while persons with disabilities numbered 137,865.

INEC further disclosed that 1,004,132 Nigerians completed both online and physical registrations in week five of the exercise, which covered September 22 to 26, 2025. Out of this number, 537,743 finalized their registration online, while 466,389 completed the process physically.
Demographic data for week five showed that 555,077 of those who completed their registration were female (55.28 percent), while 449,055 were male (44.72 percent). Youths accounted for 742,379 registrations, students made up 354,406, and persons with disabilities totaled 13,987.
INEC emphasized that the CVR exercise remains crucial in ensuring citizens’ participation in upcoming elections and encouraged more eligible Nigerians to take part.
