The Lagos State Government has announced traffic diversions ahead of a three-week rehabilitation of the Oke-Afa Bridge in Isolo Local Government Area.
The Federal Ministry of Works will carry out the repairs through the Office of the Federal Controller in Lagos, while Strabic Construction Limited will handle the construction work.
The rehabilitation will begin on Friday, August 28, 2026, and end on Friday, September 18, 2026.
To minimise disruption, the Lagos State Ministry of Transportation will introduce phased traffic diversions and contraflow arrangements along the corridor.

The first phase will run from Friday, August 28, to Friday, September 11, and will affect motorists travelling from Isolo towards Ejigbo.
Traffic officials will divert motorists onto the Isolo-bound carriageway at Pako Roundabout, where vehicles will move in both directions until they reach Mobil Filling Station.

Motorists travelling from Ejigbo will also use the same carriageway from Mobil Filling Station towards Pako Roundabout before returning to their normal route.
The second phase will run from Saturday, September 12, to Friday, September 18, and will affect motorists travelling from Ejigbo towards Isolo.
Officials will divert traffic onto the Ejigbo-bound carriageway at Mobil Filling Station, with vehicles moving in both directions until they reach Pako Roundabout.
Motorists travelling from Isolo will share the carriageway between Pako Roundabout and Mobil Filling Station before returning to the normal traffic lanes.
The Lagos State Commissioner for Transportation, Oluwaseun Osiyemi, said officials of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) would deploy personnel along the corridor to manage traffic and reduce congestion.
The ministry will also station an emergency tow vehicle along the route throughout the three-week rehabilitation period to promptly remove broken-down vehicles.
The state government urged motorists to remain patient and cooperate with traffic officials during the exercise.

It said the temporary traffic restrictions would enable the authorities to complete the rehabilitation and improve the structural safety and durability of the Oke-Afa Bridge.
