Nigerian dancer and hypeman Iweh Odinaka, popularly known as Poco Lee, is facing an assault charge in the United Kingdom, while his management has rejected reports linking the case to alleged drink spiking.
The clarification came on Tuesday as discussions about Poco Lee’s legal situation continued to circulate online and in the media.
His management and legal team said the drink-spiking claims being shared publicly are not among the allegations or charges currently before the UK court.
The team said it was aware of the growing public discussion surrounding the case and urged people to avoid drawing conclusions while the legal process is still ongoing.
“We are aware of the ongoing public discussion surrounding allegations made against our client, Poco Lee, currently before the courts in the United Kingdom,” the management stated.

The team also called on the media and members of the public to exercise caution when discussing the case, noting that Poco Lee’s guilt or innocence has not been determined by a court.
“As this matter is now subject to legal proceedings, we urge the public, media, and all well-meaning individuals to exercise restraint in commenting on the details of the case. Allegations are not evidence of guilt, and no conclusions should be drawn until the matter has been heard and determined through the appropriate legal process,” the statement added.

The management specifically addressed reports about alleged drink spiking, saying the claim was not included in the charges before the court.
“We are particularly concerned by the volume of unverified narratives currently circulating, including claims referencing ‘drink spiking,’ amongst other allegations which do not form part any of the allegations or charges before the court,” the team said.
The management further warned against adding claims that are not contained in the court case, saying such reports could create misinformation and unfairly affect people involved in the proceedings.
It also called for Poco Lee’s right to a fair hearing to be respected, stressing that the case should be decided through the judicial process rather than public opinion.
“Every individual is entitled to a fair hearing and to have their matter determined by due process of law, not by public opinion. We respectfully request that this right be respected in this instance, as it would be for anyone else,” the statement said.
The clarification follows an earlier report that Poco Lee was being held in a UK prison and was expected to appear before a court in September.
Snaresbrook Crown Court has confirmed that the dancer is scheduled to appear before the court on September 15, 2026, for plea and trial preparation. The proceedings are connected to an assault charge.
The court confirmed the date in correspondence following an inquiry about the case. However, the court did not provide further details about the circumstances surrounding the assault allegation.
The court also stated that criminal hearings are open to members of the public, while the exact time and courtroom details are expected to be released shortly before the hearing.
Poco Lee has not been convicted of the offence.
