Manchester City has officially opened negotiations with Liverpool to sign dynamic Dutch international attacker Cody Gakpo. The 27-year-old forward has rapidly become one of the most compelling storylines ahead of deadline day.
Although Tottenham Hotspur remains interested, City represents Gakpo’s preferred destination if he leaves Anfield. Official contact was established on Saturday evening following major developments in Liverpool’s transfer strategy.
Gakpo’s potential departure emerged shortly after Liverpool agreed to a £123m deal for Bradley Barcola. However, Liverpool prefers securing another attacking reinforcement before formally sanctioning Gakpo’s summer exit.
