Nigeria to deepen bilateral relations with Tanzania

The Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Defence, Ibrahim Kana, has affirmed that the Nigerian Government is committed to strengthening military bilateral relations with the Tanzanian government.

Kana, in a statement released by the Ministry’s Director of Information and Public Relations, Henshaw Ogubike, made this declaration during a reception for the delegation from Tanzania National Defence College Course 12/2023/24 at Ship House in Abuja, as part of their familiarization visit and study tour.

He highlighted the positive bilateral understanding on military relations between the Federal Republic of Nigeria and the Tanzanian government.

Kana emphasised that the familiarization visit and study tour by the participants of Tanzanian National Defence College Course 12/2023/24 would facilitate high-level discussions, leading to strengthened military cooperation, thereby fostering greater achievements for Tanzania and Africa as a whole.

Representing the Permanent Secretary, Mrs Olu Mustapha, the Director of Joint Services Department, welcomed the delegation on behalf of the Ministry.

Earlier, Commodore BT Rutambuka, SDS Navy and leader of the delegation, commended the Permanent Secretary for the robust military cooperation between both countries. 

He expressed gratitude for the audience granted, stating that their visit aimed to enhance their understanding of Nigeria’s defense sector activities to further their careers.
